Tips on staying safe

Meeting new people is exciting, but you should always be cautious when interacting with someone you don’t know.

Never Send Money
  • Never send money, especially over wire transfer
  • Protect Your Personal Information
  • Never share personal information, such as your social security number, home or work address.
  • Don't Be In A Rush
  • Take your time and get to know the other person before agreeing to meet or chat off of our app. Don't be afraid to ask questions to screen for any red flags or personal dealbreakers. A phone or video call can be a useful screening tool before meeting.
  • Never give them your real phone number.
  • Meet for the first few times in a populated, public place like a mall or a coffee shop or Library.
  • Be in Control of Your Transportation You want to be in control of how you get to and from your date so that you can leave whenever you want.
  • If You Feel Uncomfortable you can leave It's okay to end the date early if you're feeling uncomfortable.
  • Sexual Health and Consent
  • Protect Yourself when used correctly and consistently, condoms can significantly reduce the risk of contracting and passing on STI's like HIV
  • Informed you can only consent to something if you have the full story. For example, if someone says they will use a condom and then they don't there isn't full consent
  • Enthusiastic when it comes to sex, you should only do stuff you WANT to do, not things that you feel you're expected to do.
  • You get the final say over what happens with your body. It doesn't matter if you're hooked up before or even if you said yes earlier and then changed your mind. You're allowed to say stop at any time, and your partner needs to respect that.
